New Moon in Aries with Jupiter and Chiron Let’s Begin The Healing Tea

As the first sign of the zodiac, Aries naturally represents the season of new beginnings. In 2023, the Aries season is especially charged with this energy. As the Sun enters Aries, it kicks off Aries Season. This coincides with the New Moon occurring at 0º Aries, with Jupiter and Chiron also in Aries.

As I tuned into the energy to make a tea blend, I felt a gentle and kind healing energy, most strongly: the Chiron energy.

Chiron: The Wounded Healer

Chiron is an asteroid that orbits between Saturn and Uranus. In astrology, it is known as the "wounded healer" because it represents the emotional wounds we receive early in our lives, then later, these wounds become a gift that allows us to heal others through the healing journey we have taken for ourselves.

Chiron's position in our birth chart shows where we have experienced pain, trauma, or insecurity in our lives and how we can overcome them by finding our purpose and gifts. Chiron is also associated with healing powers that stem from our own deep spiritual wounds, whether they occurred in this lifetime or in previous lifetimes.

Chiron's energy is sensitive to triggers, and we often tend to ignore and bury them deep in our subconscious. This can lead to intense emotional reactions that may be difficult to process and understand when they resurface.

In astrology today, Chiron also represents the karmic wounds that lie deep within our subconscious. You do not carry these wounds for no reason; you have a purpose, and that is to heal all of them.

The New Moon in Aries is an excellent time to start the healing process, and with the presence of Jupiter and Chiron, it is an opportunity for us to confront our wounds and deal with them safely. Chiron can gently guide us on our healing journey, while Jupiter provides assistance and a safe space for us to heal. By embracing our wounds, we can transform them into gifts that allow us to heal ourselves and others.

The Chiron in Mythology

There are many stories about Chiron in Greek mythology, but one of the most famous ones is how he became immortal. Chiron was born when Cronus, the titan god of time (Saturn), disguised himself as a horse and seduced Philyra, an ocean nymph. Philyra was so ashamed of giving birth to a half-horse child that she abandoned him and prayed to be turned into a linden tree. Chiron was then adopted by Apollo, the god of light and music, who taught him many skills and arts.

Chiron grew up to be a wise and kind centaur who lived in a cave on Mount Pelion. He became a teacher and mentor to many heroes, such as Achilles, Heracles, Jason and Asclepius. He also learned the secrets of healing from Apollo and his son Asclepius.

One day, Heracles visited Chiron's cave while he was hunting for the Erymanthian Boar. He accidentally shot one of his poisoned arrows at Chiron's leg, wounding him severely. The poison was from the Hydra's blood, which made it incurable even for Chiron's healing skills. Chiron suffered great pain but could not die because he was immortal.

Heracles felt sorry for his friend and tried to find a way to end his suffering. He asked Zeus, the king of the gods, to allow Chiron to exchange his immortality with Prometheus, the titan who was chained on a mountain for stealing fire from the gods and giving it to humans. Zeus agreed and freed Prometheus from his torment. Chiron gave up his immortality and died peacefully. Zeus then placed him among the stars as the constellation Sagittarius.

In ancient Egyptian astrology, Chiron is believed to have a counterpart named Anpu or Anubis. Like Chiron, Anubis was abandoned as a child but became a beacon of hope and light for those who were lost and needed guidance. He was associated with healing, magic, protection, and justice, much like Chiron.

Anubis is an ancient Egyptian god of funerary practices and care for the dead, represented by a jackal or the figure of a man with the head of a jackal. In the Early Dynastic period and the Old Kingdom, he held a preeminent (though not exclusive) position as lord of the dead, but he was later overshadowed by Osiris.

According to ancient Egyptian mythology, Anubis was the god of mummification and embalming. He was also the guardian of the underworld and responsible for finding wandering lost souls and weighing their hearts on the scales against the feather of Ma’at. Anubis was worshipped throughout Egypt and held a special place in the seventeenth nome, where he was the patron god and protector of the people.

Chiron in Aries: Healing through Houses

Chiron, the wounded healer, has been in Aries since 2018 and 2019, quietly working on our wounds. Due to Chiron's gentle nature, this healing may have been occurring beneath our awareness and may not have been acknowledged.

However, by examining your birth chart and locating the house occupied by Aries, you may resonate with the healing happening in that area. In my birth chart, for example, Aries occupies the 11th house, and I have noticed a significant shift in how I relate to society and how I view my role within it. I definitely feel a sense of healing in this area, which has allowed me to approach my relationships with others in a more positive and mindful manner.

Here are some guides to consider regarding the house where your Aries is located and how healing could be occurring for you:

  • 1st House: Healings related to identity, appearance, and self-image.

  • 2nd House: Healings related to money, financial, and self-worth.

  • 3rd House: Healings related to communication, mindset, and early education.

  • 4th House: Healings related to family, home, and emotional security.

  • 5th House: Healings related to creativity, self-expression, and children.

  • 6th House: Healings related to day-to-day work, health, and pets.

  • 7th House: Healings related to relationships, partnerships, and contract.

  • 8th House: Healings related to Intimacy, shared resources, and debt.

  • 9th House: Healings related to belief systems, higher education, and travel.

  • 10th House: Healings related to career, public image, and authority.

  • 11th House: Healings related to friendships, groups, and society.

  • 12th House: Healings related to spirituality, the unconscious, and addiction.
